Okay, so here's my latest gardening brain-buster: I’ve been staring at what can only be described as the “celebrity” version of cranberries—yes, I’m talking about highbush cranberries. Apparently, these divas chose my backyard as their stage. Now, aside from their inflated name, is there anyone out there who’s successfully managed these snobby little bushes, or should I just let them live out their high-maintenance lives?
I mean, do they require special water (like, Himalayan spring water, perhaps), a strict organic-only fertilizer, or is their schedule dictated by some underground horticultural cabal? Also, are they prone to drama with neighboring plants, or are they more of a “please, leave me alone” type?
Any advice on handling these highbush celebrities would be appreciated—unless, of course, they’re too busy sipping on their metaphorical martinis to notice my backyard gossip.
