Great points above! I’ll just add that recent studies back up the value of slightly alkaline soils-pH 6.5-7 seems to help, especially with basal rot resistance. Consistent soil moisture (not soggy!) also reduces stress and disease risk. For pest management, rotating plant locations yearly and removing old foliage quickly cut down on narcissus fly and fungal problems in my beds. Has anyone tried introducing nematodes for bulb fly control? Curious to hear if that’s working for others!
